Writer | Coach | Critic

A smiling woman with glasses, wearing a black rain jacket, black pants, and sandals, standing on a wet, paved, winding road surrounded by lush green trees and flowering shrubs on a rainy day.

I write about teaching, books, movies, higher ed, parenting, running, Florida, community, art, politics, religion, and the impossible ethics of contemporary life.

I am a former English professor with twelve years of experience as a university writing instructor and would love to support your writing — of whatever genre! — through one-on-one coaching.

I am a reading group leader with the Catherine Project and facilitate occasional Artist’s Way groups.

Find links to my published writing, including book and film criticism, and other projects.

I work with writers at all stages of the writing process, specializing in academic writing, non-fiction, and book and film criticism. My rate is $50/hour.

I lead small groups through Julia Cameron’s best-selling creativity book, The Artist’s Way. My next group will be starting mid-May, 2026.
